Meet baby Gianna…born on December 13th to some pretty awesome people. Her mom just happens to be one of my best friends and when she found out she was having a baby I declared myself an “auntie” and spent the next few months preparing for my very first newborn photoshoot. I researched newborn photographs and props, stalked Etsy.com for adorable fuzzy hats and colorful wraps, and had many phone conversations with Gianna’s mommy about all things pregnant and baby.

Unfortunately, the photoshoot didn’t exactly go as planned (although I did get some cute shots!). Gianna decided she was going to stay up with the big girls all afternoon instead of taking her usual nap. I didn’t get to use any of my new fun props and backgrounds…just the scarf and fur rug that was already mine. Each time we would set her down on the rug she would squirm around and her teeny lips would start quivering…and then turn into a full blown cry.

Mommy would then take Gianna and try to settle her down. After being rocked for 30 some minutes, there was a veeeeeerrrrryyyyy brief moment where she didn’t mind being set down. I snapped a few pics and ended up with a favorite:)

Gianna’s face is sooooo expressive. She had a different expression every 10 seconds – from darting her tiny tongue in and out, to big huge eyes, to sweet little yawns…absolutely adorable.


It was clear that Gianna was happiest in someone’s arms and being rocked and bounced. She is a tiny peanut of a thing and I hated leaving her and Mommy. I just don’t get home enough:( This little girl is so lucky. She has the BEST parents and so many people who love and care about her! I’m so excited to watch her Mommy and Daddy grow with her! Congratulations on your sweet baby girl!!
